Having these training would give you an edge when you are already looking for a job. Some of the trainings included here are radiology, crown work, and tooth polishing, along the many others.
If you are able to get both of these training, then you already have an advantage and will already be ahead than other dental assistant hopefuls. However, dental assistant training doesn’t stop there. Most of the dental assistants acquire additional and vital skills from on-the-job training. This gives them a feel of how it is to work in the corporate setting. They are taught dental terminologies used in the dental office, how to interact with patients, how to perform daily duties, and other functions needed to keep the dental office running smoothly. It may take a few months for a dental assistant to get used to all of these tasks.
Make sure that the school, program, or any other certification you will be getting is approved by the CODA (Commission on Dental Accreditation) to have credible and valid certifications and diplomas.
