Teeth Whitening Strips

Technology stepping into the dental platform has made a lot of products and dental materials dwell into the modern world. Gone are the days, or rather, hours, of whitening appointments. These have been taken over by the teeth whitening strips, which vow to struggle with the yellows and come up with more whites – in just a fraction of your time.

Teeth whitening strips are literally strips that are like tapes stuck on the front surfaces of the teeth. The sticky part consists of a gel containing carbamide peroxide, a derivative of hydrogen peroxide that is responsible for the whitening effect. Once “absorbed” by the enamel by creating microscopic specks, it pulls off the stains and forms an opaque layer within; thus, the reflection.

A lot of people marvel about anything white. They want white shirts, whiter skin and now, the whitest shades possible on their teeth. It is for this reason that these teeth whitening strips have come into existence.

These strips have transcended from the in-office whitening treatments. The latter is not so favored by some because the strips are more convenient and practical. There wouldn’t be any need for dental appointments that could get in the way with your other errands. And it does not cut a chunk out of your budget.

These teeth whitening strips have a common promise of whitening your enamels by following a very simple drill. Stick the strips on the front surfaces of the teeth for an hour for 14 days and results will begin to be noticeable.

Being vain is normal. People want to look good all the time. But wanting your teeth to be whiter than the whitest pearl or porcelain can be bordering on narcissism. While these teeth whitening strips attest to containing substances that wouldn’t cause any harm on the normal tooth structure, saturating your enamels with more than the recommended dosage can still render them weak. This weakness could eventually result into brittleness, which you probably wouldn’t want.

If it proves to be effective, then it’s okay to indulge in the whitening fever. But it would be best to stay within limits and do as advised. If the recommended treatment time is one hour, stick with it. Do not be impatient and try to hasten the procedure by increasing the hours to have visible results in a shorter period of time. This is not how it works.

Teeth whitening strips may also not be able to reach the curvy areas of the tooth. The convexities on the surfaces may impede the gel from penetrating into the curvatures. In lieu of this, it would be better to consider the bleaching trays as immediate alternative.

An impressive smile is out to come after 14 days of continued use of teeth whitening strips. However, there are products that attest to producing the best results in a shorter time. This is somewhat questionable, especially for a market product because you do not have the guarantee of its contents.

While the in-office setting may well finish the job in an hour, dental products that are for public consumption are usually manufactured generically. The sales of special products like whitening solutions are supposedly confined to the suppliers of dental care providers. Remember that there is a lot of merchandise that are sham. You will be doing yourself a favor by sticking to the basics.

Now that the teeth whitening strips have come into play, allow yourself to enjoy that before and after moment. Take out that picture of yourself that you took months ago. Compare it with your present smile. If there is any difference, then these strips are worth the attention that they are getting right now.
